Foxes

The urban fox is a common pest. You can often hear their howls in the night and it is common to find our bins overturned with rubbish dragged out and scattered across backyards and gardens – all carried out by foxes in the search of food. The fox is a smart and versatile animal with the ability to adapt to the various elements which the urban environment presents.

Although foxes do carry diseases and bacteria due to their travels in unhygienic areas such as bins and waste areas – they are not as much of a threat to our health in this respect as a pest like a rat would be, as the fox is not living in our home or spreading its germs upon areas we interact with regularly. Foxes are more of a nuisance particularly if you keep chickens, they can be difficult to discourage and get rid of and can end up costing you time and money by eating livestock, damaging property and land.
