Here in the UK, the increase in number and the lack of control of pest birds such as pigeons has become a major public health issue and costs our economy millions of pounds a year to deal with these infestations and their consequences. The concern for health and the damage to buildings that these bird droppings create is an issue for us all.
Here at All Seasons Pest Control we have several ways that we tackle bird control. See the detail below.

Netting
Bird nets are an effective way to deter birds from your property and premises and are suitable for all types of birds. We’ve installed many different types of bird netting on a variety of buildings over the years. We are able to install bird nets safely and securely at most residential and commercial properties whilst complying with all health & safety regulations.
This types of bird deterrent is long-lasting and perfect for commercial properties, the netting is virtually invisible from a distance, so the aesthetics of your building are not effected. We always use high quality products when proofing a property and we won’t harm the look and feel of your building.
Spikes
Pigeon spikes can also be used as a bird deterrent on chimneys, roof ridges, window sills and ledges to prevent birds from nesting. Our intention is not hurt any bird with the spikes, however, they will create an unnatural and uncomfortable condition for any bird that seeks to nest on your property. They are a good long-term solution that requires little maintenance after installed.
Bird Free Gel
This bird deterrent offers an alternative option to spikes and can be used in places where spikes just can’t be fixed. Due to the incredible ability of birds – such as pigeons and seagulls – Birds such as pigeons and seagulls have the ability to see UV light, the gel gives the impression that there has been a fire. Luckily for us, birds are just as able to sense danger as we are, and the fake threat prompts them to fly elsewhere.
Posts & Wire
Bird wire & posts are an excellent choice if you want to keep birds from perching on parapets, window sills and ledges. If installed on high ledges or ledges near the ground, they are usually difficult to see due to the low profile of both the wire and post. The installation methods we use can be customised to meet the requirements of your building and it’s specifications.
Shooting
In some cases, though, we are left with no alternative but to control an infestation by operating a shooting programme. It is sometimes the only way to keep pest bird populations in check. The majority of our shooting work is limited to feral pigeons, since these birds breed so prolifically, it can be very difficult to deal with them using non-lethal methods.
At All Seasons Pest Control, we only carry out pest bird shooting programmes as a last resort, we always try to install other deterrents first. This method not only swiftly deals with a current bird infestation, but it also ensures that the problem won’t return after a few weeks.
Feral pigeon infestations can spread fast, so what can start out as a small problem can and will often quickly develop into a larger situation that can be much harder to deal with. Pigeons often make their nests in tight secluded areas, and therefore you might not even realise the scale of the infestation until it becomes a big problem.
However uncomfortable it sounds, pest bird shooting is still an essential method that we have at our disposal, and whenever required, we have the skills, experience, and licenses to carry out such work swiftly and effectively.
